FeedNC Privacy & SMS Messaging Policy

Your Privacy Matters: FeedNC is committed to protecting your personal information. By using our services or providing your information, you consent to the practices below.

We collect personal details you voluntarily provide—such as your name, phone number, email, mailing address, and appointment info—based on your role (e.g., member, volunteer, donor). Additional eligibility data may be required via our service application (feednc.org/applyforservices).
We also use aggregated, non-identifiable data (e.g., demographics, participation stats) for reporting and service improvement. Personal details are never shared with funders unless you’ve signed a consent or media release form.

When you select opt-in, you may receive SMS messages about:
Appointments and queue alerts
Emergency/weather closures

Dining services and follow-ups
Community resources (e.g., free appliances, HVAC help)
Volunteer or donor opportunities
Message frequency varies (up to 2–5/week). Standard data rates apply.

Note: Numbers entered in Acuity post-opt-out are only used for that appointment and not stored.

We do not sell or rent your data. Information is shared only:
With authorized staff/volunteers for service delivery
With trusted platforms (Acuity, Salesforce, LGL)
In anonymized form with funders/partners (with your consent if identifiable)
We never share SMS data for marketing.
5. Data Security
We protect your information through physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards. While no system is 100% secure, we’ll notify you promptly if a breach occurs and follow all legal and ethical protocols.
