Volunteering At
FeedNC
Our mission is only possible due to the amazing talents and dedication of so many volunteers. Volunteers can serve for 2-4-hour shifts in Donoghue’s community dining space, Grassroots Grocery, or the warehouse. FeedNC relies on 65+ volunteers daily to maintain our level of service, and every individual counts!

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at FeedNC. Whether serving meals at Donoghue’s Open Door, stocking shelves in Grassroots Grocery, working in the warehouse, or tending Mimi’s Produce Garden, each volunteer plays a vital role in caring for our neighbors.
In 2025 alone, more than 4,000 volunteers gave 63,000 hours of their time, contributing the equivalent of over $2.1 million in service to our community. On any given day, you’ll find more than 70 volunteers showing up with compassion, energy, and a willingness to do whatever is needed.
When there’s a need, our volunteers step in. From busy dining room shifts to high-volume donation days, they bring consistency, heart, and a spirit of service that helps make our work possible.
There’s a place for everyone here—and we’d love for you to be part of it.
